ABOUT
ME
Passionate About Inspiring Others
My life has borne out the wisdom of Scott Peck’s quote that life is often difficult. I have experienced loss, fear, and sadness. Because of my experience, and that of others, I am passionate about the need and effectiveness of counseling. I believe we often do not make needed changes in our lives until we are uncomfortable, distressed, and stuck. Pain is an invitation to step out of our dysfunctional thoughts, emotions, and behavioral ruts into healthier individual and relational choices. Counseling can be a highly effective tool for transformation from reactive and self-defeating actions to an intentional, strength-based, long-term response to life challenges.
For nearly 20 years, I have worked with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. My work has included treating adults and adolescents with mood disorders such as anger, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, adoption adjustments, disordered attachment, sexual abuse and other forms of trauma, compulsive behaviors, parenting struggles, and career changes in the early and mid-life developmental stages of life. My work with couples and families has been centered around issues of communication and conflict resolution, family expectations, child development and parenting, affairs and reconciliation, forgiveness, and court and child protection services interventions.

My goals as a therapist is to collaborate with my clients to identify the core issues behind their battles. We work to create a sustainable plan that will lead to greater success in the various areas of their lives. Clients are encouraged and supported as they make the changes necessary for their growth. They move from a place of fear and discouragement to one of resilience and hope.
When clients request spiritual assistance, I encourage them to use their faith as a starting place to define their identity as well as their purpose for living.
